Hours: 12 per week

Sessional Rate: £7.50 an hour

Location:  Bromford & Ward End, Birmingham

Affinity Community Engagement (ACE) Project CIC is an organisation that provides and designs services to increase independence, choice and control through health and well-being preventative initiatives for people who are Isolated, vulnerable and disadvantaged. We have developed activity provisions for adults 50+ in the Ward End & Bromford areas.  The service users of the groups are people of different cultural background from within the local community. ACE Project CIC is now looking to recruit a cook to cover both hubs two days per week.

 

Your Role in Summary: To prepare and cook culturally appropriate meals freshly on-site and served to the Service users.  To ensure that the kitchen area is well maintained to high standards in line with hygiene regulations at all times.
 

A Description of your Duties
 

MAIN DUTIES:

  • To respect the nutritional needs of the Services Users at all times.

  • To prepare menu’s in consultation with the Project Worker and Service Users.

  • To prepare, cook and serve meals, ensuring that all needs are fully considered and catered for in accordance with Service User requirements.

  • To prepare any beverages and snacks in the afternoon.

  • To ensure the quantity and quality of all food served is to the required standard.

  • To supervise any volunteer helpers within the Kitchen in conjunction with the Project Worker.

  • To ensure that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

 

You'll be able to relate well with all workers and especially with service users, ensuring that their needs are met.

 

Skills and Qualities required are:

Good Communication, Interpersonal, Team Working, Practical, Reliable, Loyal, Patient, Enthusiastic and Good Sense of Humour.

 

Food & Hygiene knowledge is essential. NVQ level 2 Food Safety certificate is required, but not necessary as training can be provided.

 

Appointment subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services Check for regulated activity.
